Robbi’s journey home turns into a nightmare
when she discovers that her savior might be her killer.

“Off Course” is a suspenseful road movie about one woman’s journey to return home and a hit man’s need for redemption.

ROBBI (21), a drugged-up, disillusioned model, works as a dancer in a nightclub in Riccione, Italy. She desperately wants to get back to Canada to see her estranged father who is dying. Realizing that she can’t break her contract from her odious boss, GIANNI, she flees from the club. After missing the bus, Robbi runs into a Mercedes, driven by FRANCO, a charming older gentleman who mistakes her for a prostitute and picks her up. Thinking that Franco has kindly offered her a ride, Robbi is horrified when he drives her to a hotel. After Robbi angrily informs him that she is not a hooker, Franco apologizes and offers her a ride to the airport in Milan, which he claims is on his route anyway. Stuck between a rock and hard place, Robbi reluctantly accepts his offer. But she soon learns that she is in trouble when Franco does not take the exit for Milan and heads in the opposite direction.

Adding fuel to the fire, they are followed in hot pursuit by Gianni, who is determined to take Robbi back. It is only when Franco pulls a gun and appears to shoot Gianni that Robbi discovers she has been kidnapped by a killer! Franco reveals that he is an assassin on the run because his last hit went wrong and he has a few loose ends to tie up. Terrified and unable to escape, Robbi accompanies Franco on his journey and even becomes an accomplice to his actions.

“Off Course” juxtaposes the psychological terror of a dangerous situation with the sweeping vistas of Italy’s Cinque Terra region. How can one accept that death may be around such a breathtaking corner?
